MUST SHARE - Story of the week

Each week I confront challenges sculpting new & existing creations......
One to remember is my construction troubles with Thomas the Tank this week.
Felt a little out of sorts which caused a few backward moves. Putting things together in the wrong order - many hours re-constructing and it's not like I haven't done it before.
Well worth it when the little 2 year old boy came to pick up his cake with his mum.........The look on his face and the 'Thomas' being shouted from his little mouth said it all. He helped his mum carefully take the cake to the car then didn't want to shut the boot on Thomas. 'Oh no Thomas'. Really sweet, brings me back to one of the reasons why I love sculpting and creating cakes for special occassions.

Do you remember when you where a kid and having fun after the rain playing mud patties?

I was brought back to my childhood when I delightfully watched my grandkids playing under the trampoline in the mud. They had a ball and enjoyed getting themselves really dirty. After their adventures playing mud pies the littlest came up to me wanting a huge hug. As much as I love him to pieces - covered from head to toe in mud - oh no...it wasn't going to happen.

How easy it is to make mud patties and have fun doing it. If only making specialty cakes was made that easy.

Directions: dry your mud patty in the sun for 8 hrs or until firm. Spray lightly with water to apply dry/wet leaves as icing and add sticks, flowers, etc for decorations. One Mud Patty Cake coming up...........

Enjoy your week.
